Why Design?
We live in a beautiful world. Yet, anthropocentric modernity prides itself in separation, division, even dominance over nature. The quest to insulate ourselves from that which is other has resulted in dangerous discord within our ecosystem. This perceived dichotomy of humanity versus nature is mere illusion, these two worlds have always been united and it is the responsibility of the designer to serve both.
My work strives to learn from and understand natural systems. Much of my aesthetic references organic structures and themes, borrowing from forms evolutionarily perfected over millennia. I seek to showcase the beauty and functionality of nature, thereby fostering our connection to the global ecosystem. This is, after all, as much a part of us as we are a part of it.
